5x’s the amount…

5x’s the amount…

Americans now buy five times as much clothing as they did in 1980. FIVE TIMES! Whoa. I am in this category, absolutely. As I have said/written before, I get bored with my clothes and like to rotate, and freshen up. Furthermore, I am a yo-yo with my weight. Size 6 to 10/12 in a blink. I am good with how I look and comfortable in my body. Thankfully #thrifting makes my life and closet easier on my weight. Sophia Loren said it best:

“I’d rather eat pasta and drink wine than be a size 0” – Sophia Loren, 1965

Well played dear Sophia, well played.

We live and believe in a “more is better” society. I’ll tell you when we go to Italy that is not the case. People live within their means and their closets are bursting at the seams. They wear their clothes often until they fall apart. What a novel idea!! Let’s turn back the clock on our thinking and wear our clothes in the closet or thrift them. I digress.

We have an overabundance of E V E R Y T H I N G. Let’s start to pass the items on we don’t use. Or at the very least, repurpose or make it anew!
