I have a lot of friends that buy things, granted, that they love and then sit in a box in their closet – never to be used. I don’t get it. Hoarder? Feeling happy because they have stuff? These aren’t ‘just in case’ items (that’s for another day). It can’t be for sentimental reasons 100% of the time. How many purses do you need, that NEVER see the light of day? I asked a friend about this recently, and they told me that they don’t use it because they don’t want to get it dirty. (huh, head tilt in confusion) well, that makes no sense.
I am a certified lover of purses. I probably have 25-ish, yes, I know I know, too many. I justify it because I legitimately use them ALL during the year. When I tire of them, I thrift or give them away. Having things brand new in a box doesn’t appeal to me. Not just for thrifting reasons but also because someone already used them and they are broken in. I have no hang-ups on getting them ‘dirty’. I am still confused. In fact, I often times prefer buying a purse that has been worn in – it has already had the pleasure of seeing the world, and nothing I can do but add to that.
